ASSOCIATIONS AND WHAT THEY MEAN FOR OUR CLIENTS.
At IAI we have committed ourselves to excellence and are moving into the forefront of the inspection industry.
Continuing Education, Networking, and Training are the processes used in any Industry for ongoing professional development and advancement. Professional Associations are tools to facilitate this process. They supply Standards, Procedures, and Ethics for accomplishing this goal. Here are some Associations that have helped us succeed as Inspection Industry Leaders.
American Association of Home Inspectors?
[AAHI Standards of Practice] [Code of Professional Ethics]
AAHI is a nationwide professional membership organization of "Certified Home Inspectors?". The American Institute of Home Inspectors, which had trained and educated home inspectors since 1981, organized AAHI? in 1989.
AAHI is the only national association that certifies home inspectors by using a Certification Mark granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Reg. No. 1,662,100) in 1991. American Society for NonDestructive Testing
[Code of Ethics]
The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc. (ASNT) is a professional, technical society which crosses the disciplines of science, engineering and technology. Founded in 1941 as "The American Industrial Radium and X-Ray Society", the name was changed in 1946 to "The Society for Nondestructive Testing" to more accurately reflect its scope of interest and industry. In 1967, the name was amended to reinstate the word "American".
Today, the Society is composed of more than 10,000 members in 91 local sections (chapters) throughout the United States and three foreign countries.
As its Constitution states, ASNT's mission is "to provide the forum for exchange of NDT technical information; to provide NDT educational materials and programs; to provide training, standards and services for the qualification of NDT personnel; to promote the discipline of NDT as a profession; and to facilitate and promote NDT research and the application of NDT technology." To achieve that end, the Society functions through its three councils - Technical, Education & Qualification, and Section Operations. The responsibilities of the councils are apparent from their names; each operates independently to achieve the goals and objectives prescribed for it by a joint Objectives Planning committee. The Society also sponsors conferences, tradeshows, seminars and topical meetings to present the latest information on the various NDT techniques as well as emerging areas for future study and development. Additionally, ASNT maintains an extensive publications department, providing information on virtually every aspect of NDT to professionals throughout the world.
