Monitoring
IAI can monitor critical tests or testing procedures at your vendor's place of business. We can also monitor the fabrication of equipment and products and report on the fabrication progress. Some examples of monitoring activities include materials verification, coating application, welder certifications, welding procedure compliance, and product alterations or repair. The loading/shipping process can be monitored to help assure safe and complete delivery.
Expediting
On-time delivery is critical to most businesses. Systematic contact with vendors can help prevent critical shortages. Our Expediting Department can help keep your project on the "front burner". Changes in the vendor timelines, fabrication problems, quality issues, and equipment breakdowns are promptly reported. We can help you analyze your vendor's production capacity and equipment age and condition. IAI will follow through to the project's completion and verify transportation arrangements to help ensure that there are no last minute delays.
Destructive Testing
IAI personnel have training and experience in the field of Metallurgy. If destructive testing is required, tests such as the Izod Test, Charpy Test, tensile strength test, fatigue testing, nick break test, and other tests as required can be arranged.
Dimensional Inspection
IAI inspectors are certified in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. They are experienced in taking precision measurements and working with numerous types of measuring instruments and gauges. In addition to other precision measurements, IAI inspectors are able to check surface hardness, surface smoothness, and the thickness of coatings. They will also verify calibration dates and confirm the print revision level being used for production.
In-Process Inspection
IAI inspectors can follow the goods that are in-process and check components before they are assembled or incorporated into the parent part or finished product.
Laboratory Analysis
If at any point during the inspection process laboratory analysis is required, IAI can use our network of laboratories to get answers for you.
Sample Collection
IAI inspectors are trained to protect the integrity of all samples collected. All samples will be adequately packed to ensure the safe arrival at its destination. Hazardous materials may require special handling and may be regulated; however, we pride ourselves on getting the job done.
Photography
Its been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. With the use of digital cameras, IAI can send photographs via e-mail so you can monitor fabrication or assembly progress or for any other reason that is necessary.
Final Inspections
In many instances, a product is fabricated and/or assembled on a vendor's premises. Freight costs can be substantial and especially so if it is necessary to make alterations or repairs after arrival. In some cases, it may be necessary to return the product to the manufacturer. It is generally advisable to have a "Final Inspection" performed by someone other than the vendor before shipment. IAI has performed a large number of "Final Inspections" by visually verifying that the fabricated and/or assembled goods are in conformance with your requirements.
Certificates of Inspections
IAI can issue "Certificates of Inspection" when requested or where appropriate. We can also assist in obtaining "Certificates of Compliance" from the vendor.
